“The Eyes Are The Gates” by Carrington Turner, 2019 Invitation Winner

Young American Talent (YAT) is a Juried Visual Art Competition for North Texas High School students. It is hosted by the non-profit Visual Arts Guild at Booker T Washington HSPVA and the H. Paxton Moore Fine Art Gallery at El Centro College. The annual event encourages the pursuit of artistic excellence among Dallas-area high school students by providing an opportunity to compete with peers, participate in a juried art exhibit and receive recognition in a professional gallery setting. Best in Show and each 1st through 3rd place category winner receives a monetary award. Last year 954 works were entered and approximately 120 were selected, yielding an inspiring collection of exceptional artwork by burgeoning members of the Dallas art community. Selected works from the upcoming 2020 competition will be displayed at El Centro College from February 24 – March 25, 2020.

This juried competition is open to all North Texas high school students and offers them an outstanding opportunity to compete with their peers and to showcase their artwork in a professional gallery setting.

Awards Ceremony - 3/25, 6 - 8pm

The 2020 Awards Ceremony and reception will take place at the H. Paxton Moore Fine Arts Gallery. Come enjoy the gallery show and hors d’oeuvres. The Awards Ceremony beings at 7pm.
